Faux Fur Throws, Fur Cushion Covers & Fur Pet Blankets.
Due to the nature of the product and the materials used, some initial casting of fibres may occur. A light vacuuming on receipt will eliminate most loose fibres and shedding. Some smaller Faux Fur products can be washed, like cushion covers and pet blankets, but we highly recommend that all throws are DRY CLEANED ONLY. They require careful treatment afterwards to brush and restore the pile. The larger sizes are too heavy to comfortably handle once wet and will cause damage to washing machines because of their weight and bulk. Further information is given on the product page for each individual design. For faux fur products that are washable, set your machine for the coolest & most delicate setting with a medium spin cycle. Only use a mild detergent recommended for delicates. Let the fur product dry naturally on a flat surface. Do not tumble dry. Any kind of excessive heat will cause damage to the fibres. Any item that can be machine washed can also be hand washed. Use a soft brush to gently separate the fur whilst still damp, restoring the pile. Do not iron. Please note we cannot be held responsible for any damage caused to your faux fur product if you do not clean in accordance with our advice.
Unfortunately fur fabrics can become creased and compressed during transit, usually these will fall out after a few days of the throw being opened out, however, for more stubborn creases open the throw out and cover the affected area with a damp towel for around an hour. After this time the underlying fibres should be more flexible and can gently be brushed into place and allowed to dry
Tartan & Fleece Throws & Fleece Pet Blankets
Tartan Throws and Fleece Throws and Blankets can be machine washed on a 30-degree cycle with a mild detergent. As fleece is a very fast drying product, we recommend you let the throws dry naturally, either folded or flat, this will limit any creasing. If ironing is required this must be done by laying a damp cloth over the fleece and indirectly ironing on a cool setting. If ironing of the Tartan Throw is required, iron on a cool setting on the Tartan side of the throw, not the fleece reverse side.
Printed Velvet Throws & Cushion Covers The printed velvet that we use is digitally printed, 100% polyester, so can therefore be spot cleaned, hand washed or machine washed on a delicate cycle, no hotter than 30 degrees, using a mild detergent. We advise your velvet product, should be naturally dried only, do not tumble dry, cool iron only.
Seat Pads Our seat pads, although can be used both indoor and outdoor, are not waterproof. If something is spilled on them it is advisable to immediately sponge the area with clean warm water and a gentle detergent, then leave to dry naturally. Do not attempt to wash or dry clean your seat pads.
Cow Hide Rugs. Cowhide rugs Take a minimum amount of care and should last you a life time if looked after properly. However, they are not intended to be used in high traffic areas; if they are, hairs will begin to break off and after time the base hide will be exposed. We advise you to take your rug outside and shake it occasionally to remove any loose hairs. You may gently vacuum over your rug but take care over the edges. Cowhides should not be allowed to get wet. If something is spilled on them it is advisable to immediately sponge the area with clean warm water and a gentle detergent, then leave to dry naturally. Do not attempt to wash or dry clean your rug. Do not use chemicals to clean them unless you have obtained professional guidance.
Sheepskin Rugs
Try not to get your rug wet but if you do, let it dry out naturally. To keep it looking good you can brush the pile with a wide tooth comb or soft brush. If you do soil or get dirt on your rug, we advise that you leave it to dry and brush it out. With regards to spillages, we advise a damp cloth and a mild wool detergent to dab out. We highly recommend that you DRY CLEAN ONLY. If you decide to wash your rug, set your machine for the coolest & wool setting and no hotter than 30 degrees, using a mild detergent recommended for wool. Let the rug dry naturally on a flat surface. Do not tumble dry. Use a soft brush to gently brush whilst still damp. The backing (leather) of the sheepskin rug will become stiff if washed. Please note we cannot be held responsible for any damage caused to your rug if you decide to machine wash your rug.
Occasionally take your rug out side and gently shake it, if you wish to vacuum, this must be done gently using the brush tool. Do not place your rug near heat sources like in front of a fire or a radiator; this may result in the rug drying out causing the hairs to become brittle. We highly recommend you DRY CLEAN ONLY. Please note that reindeer hide rugs are not intended for heavy traffic areas and hairs will undoubtedly begin to break off if walked on regularly.
